Mercury RR OK - KZ

THE FLAGSHIP MODEL
Kosmic Kart introduces, for the single speed, shifter and DD2 categories, the new top-range chassis: the Mercury RR. The climax of the evolution of the work of the OTK Kart Group R&D department, the new Mercury has some interesting new features

Winning tradition
“MADE IN ITALY” SUCCESSES
The Mercury RR keeps faith with the company mission "Designed, Engineered, Manufactured, 100% Made in OTK - Italy" at the base of all OTK Kart Group products. The rigorous control of the entire design and production chain, thanks also to the use of automated processes that guarantee extremely high-quality standards, has always been the distinctive element of the Italian company. An approach that has led over the years to the victory of five world titles, a KF3 World Cup and three CIK-FIA Asia-Pacific titles. These results were once again confirmed by the 2021 season, which was no less generous in terms of satisfaction thanks to the two vice-world championship titles in the OK and OKJ categories, as well as the success in the FIA Karting European Championship of OK-Junior category.

Fairing kit M10
SCULPTED BY THE WIND
OTK Kart Group's R&D department has been for year a pioneer in the aerodynamic research and development of its karts through wind tunnel analysis and CFD computer simulation. This relentless research activity has led, over time, to the launch of revolutionary solutions in the field of fairings such as the M7 front spoiler, with its innovative design and ability to reduce aerodynamic resistance, resulting in increased performance. This model, now made of blue plastic, is now complemented by the new M10 kit for the Mercury RR. This consists of the new side bumpers, which are lighter in weight and smaller in size, to the benefit of performance and better cooling of the rear tyres. But that's not all, because the front spoiler and rear protection have also been renewed in order to meet the increasingly demanding requirements in terms of FIA safety regulations.

BSD Caliper
WINNING BRAKING SYSTEM
Confirmed for the new Mercury RR, in its single-speed version, the BSD braking system that has significantly contributed to the achievement of excellent results in the most prestigious races in the world. The rear brake caliper, forged in one piece, is equipped with a stroke recovery system and features two D. 34.5 mm pistons. This is combined with a two-piston pump and a brake line with outer cover stainless steel braid, PTFE inner tube. The caliper and brake pump are made of Ergal, a material that stands out for its excellent mechanical strength, which is further increased by the hard oxidation process that reduces wear on the moving parts.

Driving position
COMFORT AT FIRST PLACE
Driving comfort is fundamental for the performance of every driver. This aspect plays a central role in the entire development process carried out by OTK Kart Group for the Mercury RR, which offers several new features aimed at refining even the smallest details. To be highlighted, in fact, is the standard supply of a footrest that allows a greater range of adjustment and, in addition, new seat supports. These solutions are in addition to the already well-known HGS steering wheel, equipped with high grip and comfort rubber grips, and the inclined hub, for a fully ergonomic driving position.

BSS and BSZ Brakes
WORLD MIX
OTK Kart Group produces according to well-defined standards: the use of selected materials of the highest quality and their processing using automated machines and processes that ensure full reproducibility of each component, always guaranteeing the highest quality parameters. These principles are more fundamental than ever when it comes to braking systems for shifter categories, classes in which braking capacity plays a primary role in performance. With the arrival of the Mercury RR, Kosmic Kart proposes as standard a new system for the shifter classes called BSZ, equipped with brake pumps with larger diameter pistons that make the braking even more modular. For the DD2 version, instead, the reference system remains the BSS only.
